India Announce 15-Member Squad for U-19 Asia Cup, Focus on Aaryavir and Anvay
भारत ने अंडर-19 एशिया कप के लिए 15 सदस्यीय टीम का ऐलान किया है। लक्ष्य रायचंदानी कप्तान और यशवर्धन चौहान उपकप्तान हैं। टीम में आर्यवीर शेबाग और अन्वय द्रविड़ को जगह मिली है। अन्वय टीम के प्रमुख विकेटकीपर हैं। टूर्नामेंट 4 से 14 नवंबर तक ओमान के मस्कट में होगा। भारत ग्रुप ‘ए’ में नेपाल, पाकिस्तान और संयुक्त अरब अमीरात के साथ है। ग्रुप ‘बी’ में बांग्लादेश, अफगानिस्तान, मलेशिया और श्रीलंका हैं। दोनों ग्रुप से शीर्ष दो टीमें सेमीफाइनल में पहुंचेंगी। भारत ने हाल में ऑस्ट्रेलिया को चार दिवसीय सीरीज 2-0 और वनडे सीरीज 3-0 से हराया था।
India has announced a 15-member squad for the U-19 Asia Cup, with attention on Aaryavir Sehwag, son of Virender Sehwag, and Anvay Dravid, son of Rahul Dravid. Lakshya Raichandani will captain the team, while Yashvardhan Chauhan has been named vice-captain. The tournament will be held in Muscat, Oman, from November 4 to 14. India are in Group A alongside Nepal, Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates. Group B includes Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Malaysia and Sri Lanka. The top two teams from each group will qualify for the semi-finals. India enter the event in good form after a 2-0 win in the four-day series and a 3-0 sweep in the ODI series against Australia. Earlier, they beat Sri Lanka 1-0 in the four-day series but lost the ODI series 2-1. Raichandani scored 250 runs in three innings against Australia, including 240 in the first match. Chauhan was India’s leading batter in the ODI series with 176 runs in two innings, including a century in the second game. Aaryavir scored 28, 47 and 34 in the ODI series against Australia, while Anvay, the first-choice wicketkeeper, made 38 and 9. Anvay had earlier hit 87 off 67 balls in the last ODI against Sri Lanka. The squad includes Lakshya Raichandani (captain), Aaryavir Sehwag, VK Vineet, Yashvardhan Chauhan (vice-captain), Kushagra Ojha, Arjun Rajput, Manal Chauhan, Anvay Dravid (wicketkeeper), Rajat Baghel (wicketkeeper), V. Yashveer, Aryan Savsani, Mohit Ulva, Kabya Patel, Shavin Vinod and Ishan Sud. The team offers a mix of batting depth, pace options, spin and wicketkeeping cover. India’s group matches will require consistency and composure, especially against Pakistan. Nepal and UAE can also be competitive in youth cricket. Oman conditions may bring heat, fatigue and pitch variation, making toss and rotation important. The tournament is also a chance for young players to make a mark and push for higher-level opportunities. India will need a strong group-stage start and good knockout execution to challenge for the title.
